Thing # 23 - Summarize Your Thoughts

Wow! So many things there are!!! I have to say my favorite discoveries were Flikr and RSS feeds. I can see myself using these things a lot. And of course Youtube was interesting! I think this has made me want to keep up on all the technology out there and keep learning more. I think that this was a great discovery program and I would like to participate in others if they are available but I think it would be better if it was offered in the winter after the holidays. It was hard to find time during the summer with people being on vacations. Overall it was a great learning experience for me and I was able to teach some things to family members that did not participate in the 23 things.

Thing # 22 - Overdrive and Net Library

I explored Overdrive and did find some titles I like. I am not a big fan of audio books myself but I can see where this is great for those who enjoy them and those who have high speed Internet.

Week 9 - # 20 Youtube

I found this DIY video on how to make paper beads. I think this would be a good link to use on the YA site.

Week 8 - Thing # 19 Web 2.0 Awards

I explored yelp and Pandora. Yelp is a city guide with reviews of restaurants, shopping etc... I think this is a great tool for people going on vacation. It would also be good for people who are new to an area as well because it includes maps. Pandora is a music site that was created by the Music Genome Project. You can create a free account that lets you create your own person radio station and sample music unlike other sites it let's you here the whole song.

Week 8 - Thing # 18 Online Productivity

I think Zoho Writer is great for people who don't have access to Word products. I found it to be pretty user friendly.

Week 7 - Thing # 17 The sandbox

I managed to put my blog on the favorites page but it seems there is a glitch so it took me a try or two. I found that people are able to use the wiki to share good information but they are also able to edit pages and delete items from the main page making it difficult for other users.

Week 7 - Thing # 16 Wikis

I think using wiki's would be a great way for teams to communicate. The down side is they can become overrun with spam and become disorganized.

Week 6 - Thing # 15 - Web 2.0, Library 2.0

In the article "Away from the Icebergs" Rick Anderson talked about no longer collecting in the traditional sense. He says we need to offer the patron everything such as digital collections, blogs pod casts etc. With so many ways to get information these days it would be great to have these things available on library websites for patrons to use.

Week 6 - Thing 14 - Discover Technorati

Well, I guess I should have read my horoscope today because my techi side in on a down slide. I could not get the Technoratori tour to work. I did manage to check out some things and found a blog called engadget. It's for un-techi people like myself. You can find out about i-phones, hdtv and so on.

Week 6 - Thing # 13 - Tagging and Discover Del.icio.us

I could not get the tutorial to work but I managed to look around and see how it works.

I can see where this could be a useful tool to use. It allows you to bookmark links that can be searched on a variety of subjects and also allows you to see what others say. Patrons could also subscribe to feeds available on your site and tag them.

Week 5 - Thing # 12 - Rollyo

This is my search roll link http://rollyo.com/index.html. So much to search. I need more time!

Week 5 - Thing # 11 - Lirbrary Link

I think this is so great and so easy to use. I like the way you can search right from your blog.

Week 5 - Thing # 10 - Generators

I found this "Chill Out" one at http://www.profilepitstop.com/myspace_flashpix/ It looks like an attention getter. Something you could use on a web page. There are different images you can use and you can also use your own pictures. It was fairly easy to use.

Week 4 - Thing # 9 Explore Merlin

I liked using Topix.net. I liked being able to type in your zip code and get newsfeeds in your area.http://www.topix.net/

Week 4 - Thing # 8 RSS Feeds/Bloglines

http://www.bloglines.com/public/just2peachy

This is something I will probably use. I think it's great to have what you want come to you instead of searching it out.

Week 3 - Thing # 7 Technology

My favorite technology would have to be my digital camera. I am so much better printing out my pictures than I was with film. Those rolls would sit around for years sometimes. I think it's great to see your pictures right away too!

Week 3 - Thing # 6 - Flickr Mahups and 3rd Party Sites

I think this was a great tool also. I think it would be great for special occasions. You could make a set of cards for someones anniversary or 50th birthday.

I found a third party tool that lets you create jigsaw puzzles.

http://www.flashpuzzlezone.com/flickr/ I like puzzles and thought this was kinda cool.

Week # 2 - Thing 4 - Registering Your Blog

This wasn't to painful. Now on to Thing 5. Somehow I feel the presence of Dr. Seuss----Thing 1 and Thing 2!!!

Week # 2 - Thing 3 - Creating My Blog

Well, the hardest part was finding a name for myself. I did learn it helps if you put #'s after your name.

Week # 1 - Thing 2 - 71/2 Habbits

I think the easiest habit for me would be accept responsibility for your own learning. You can't expect others to learn for you. You have to seek out opportunities. The hardest would be see each problem as a challenge. I think negatively about problems and I think that makes it harder to get through them rather than to take them as a challenge.
Just testing my posting skills!!!
